Heralded as the father of modern Damascus steel forging and the founder of the American Bladesmith’s Society, Bill Moran — during his “retirement” years — collaborated with Spyderco to create a fixed blade design that remains a bestseller many years later.

This knife has an upswept, Bowie-style blade, flat-ground from VG-10 steel and featuring Moran’s engraved signature. The blade is tapered, starting thick where it joins the handle, and thinning down along the spine to a fine, uniformly ground tip. The remarkably well balanced knife feels very natural in the hand, providing steady control over the cutting edge during use. An FRN handle fits comfortably and naturally in the palm, and is inlayed with a panel of nonslip Kraton material.
