This sheath is designed specifically and exactly for the Husqvarna 13 in. curved handle hatchet. It is made out of raw cowhide and later stained with Neatsfoot oil. The sheath is handmade in Spokane, Washington. The construction of the sheath starts with three pieces of leather: the main body of the sheath, the securing strap and the welt. The main body is folded over a welt that is inserted into between the two folded half which prevents the blade of the inserted axe from cutting the stitch that is placed to hold the sheath together. The sheath is then hand stitched and steel rivets are placed at the corners to reinforce the body. The axe head blade, when placed in the sheath, is prevented from touching the rivets because of the welt. The retention strap is then secured with a steel rivet and a steel snap is added for easy on/off action. This sheath is built to last, and quality made in the USA (Spokane, Washington). Matt Graham and Condor teamed up to design the Primitive Bush Knife. The 420 high carbon stainless steel is 13 1/2″ overall length with a blade length of 8″. The blade thickness is 3.0mm and comes with a hand crafted welted leather sheath. The Bush Knife weighs just under a pound at.94lbs.
The large Manix 2 is an oversized version of the Manix2 with a blade that is just under four-inches. The blade is locked open using Spyderco’s patented Ball Bearing Lock. The lock is comprised of a free-floating steel ball-bearing encased in a high-tech polymer cage. When opened, the ball bearing moves forward onto the blade’s ramp where it is wedged, locking the blade safely open. The spherical shape of the ball rotates freely allowing the lock to self-adjust across a large surface, ensuring smooth and confident lock-up every time it is opened. The blade is CPM S30V, ground full-flat and features jimping above the oversized 14mm Spyderco Round Hole. The liners inside the G-10 handle extend beyond the scales, creating a scalloped pattern around the handle’s perimeter for additional grip. This feature keeps the knife from slipping out in the hand and works well with gloves. The liners serve a double purpose by adding rigidity and lightweight strength to the handle. A three-screw clip can be positioned ambidextrously, tip-up for comfort and pocket carry. The knife also has a large lanyard pipe to protect various types of cords or thongs.
